Role: AIX Engineer

Location: Tampa, FL

Duration: 12 months

Must-haves 

- 5+ years as a systems engineer. 

- Must be an expert in LPARs - creating, building, supporting, etc. 

- Must be able to explain and understand NIM server. 

- Must have experience with VIOS creation and support. 

- Must have worked on physical hardware - this company is using Power 8. 

- Experience leading projects, creating and documenting standards. 

- Responsible for tuning systems. 

- must have experience in and enterprise size company. 

- Demonstrated background in creation of LPARs via the Hardware Management. 

- Created partitions with vscsi, N-Port Virtualization(NPIV) and perform Live Partition Mobility operations on pSeries LPARs. 

 

Plusses 

- Experience writing scripts in administrative languages such as Bash/Korn/Bourne/C Shell, Perl, Tk and leverage command scripting ability for vi files. 

- Some knowledge of RedHat. 

 

Day-to-Day 

An employer in the Tampa area is looking for a Senior AIX Engineer. 

- Will be responsible for leading and mentoring the team with Linux and AIX engineering. 

- Will be responsible for on call rotations every 8 weeks. 

- Responsible for maintaining and building LPARS, the company has over 400 on AIX side. 

- Installation, configuration and maintenance of UNIX operating systems and associated component/tools. 

- TCP/IP network configuration and tuning. 

- Demonstrated background in creation of LPARs via the Hardware Management. 

- Created partitions with vscsi, N-Port Virtualization(NPIV) and perform Live Partition Mobility operations on pSeries LPARs.
