Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
As an embedded software engineer, you will write software enabling our next-generation of cloud-connected, IoT wireless audio ecosystem of products. You will work closely with cloud engineers to connect products to each other and to cloud services both internal and external. The ideal candidate has strong application-level C++ experience in an embedded Linux environment and thrives working in a fast-paced, extremely collaborative agile team.
Responsibilities include:
Contribute to an enthusiastic and talented team of Software Engineers to bring new products and compelling experiences to the market
Add features to the embedded product firmware that connects products to cloud APIs and services, including IoT, cloud control, and streaming music services.
Collaborate with cloud and mobile software teams to develop product features and services, and to define APIs between product, mobile app, and cloud.
Build platforms by architecting reusable building blocks enabling faster and more efficient product creation
Take part in full stack software development which includes embedded, mobile apps, cloud, and everything in between
Work with QA on developing testing processes, frameworks, and automation strategies
Focus on innovating new and better ways to create solutions that add value and amaze the end user, with a penchant for simple elegant design in every aspect from data structures to code to systems architecture
Stay up to date on relevant technologies, plug into user groups and understand trends and opportunities to ensure we are using the best techniques and tools
Qualifications:
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent; advanced degree a plus
Excellent object oriented design (OOD) and object oriented programming (OOP) using C++
5+ years’ experience using C++ with at least one embedded operating system (Linux-preferred)
Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
Strong sense of ownership, passionate, fast learner, detail-oriented, analytical mindset, perfection seeker
Strong experience with one scripting language like Python, Perl or Shell
One or more of the following are highly desirable:
Embedded/Cloud IoT application development
Experience using and developing REST APIs, using tools such as RAML and Swagger / OpenAPI Passion for automated testing and test-driven development
Working knowledge of Python, py.test
Experience integrating with streaming music service APIs like Spotify and Pandora
Full Time/Contract
Technical Lead Responsibilities
Responsible for the execution and completion of various projects/programs.
Provide guidance to test and automation teams.
Design and implement Python code for new or existing automation framework components including interaction with mobile phone, sending commands to embedded products, fixtures, logging, reporting, etc.
Design, implement and execute test procedures for wireless headphone and mobile speaker products.
Develop automation test scripts to automate manual test cases.
Implement, track, and report key metrics to assure full coverage of functional and non-functional requirements
Support team direction to best implement continuous integration and automated overnight build testing
Support all phases of the software lifecycle including requirements analysis, testing, release validation, and documentation
Utilize test case management and issue tracking systems.
Collaborate across the organization with a desire to teach and learn from others.
Champion quality throughout the development process
Work with development teams to facilitate unit and integration tests
Requirements:
BSEE/BSCS/BSCE with a minimum of 3 years of Python Experience.
5+ years' industry experience in QA or Software Engineering
Experience working with Embedded product automation
Experience with test management tools (JIRA, Testrail, etc.) and source code management (SCM) tools (Subversion, Git, Jenkins, etc.)
Expertise with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or other networking protocols.
Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Strong oral and written communication skills.
3) Cloud Engineer (Python & Micro services) Westborough, MA
Full Time/ Contract
Job Description:
Develop micro services on cloud to onboard new 3rd party services.
Design and develop REST APIs to expand functionality.
Work with platform architects on software and system optimizations, helping to identify and remove potential performance bottlenecks.
Create productivity tools for third-party developers to self-service their own integrated solutions.
Work with other software leads on developing production automation and unit test automation.
Stay up to date on relevant technologies, plug into user groups and understand trends, opportunities that ensure we are using the best techniques and tools.
Document the work you do, especially APIs that you create.
Qualifications (demonstrated Competence):
Expert knowledge of cloud coding languages such as Python.
Experience with cloud technologies (Amazon Web Services preferred).
Experience with API design/documentation tools such as RAML and Swagger/OpenAPI.
Hands on experience using and developing REST APIs.
Cloud-based distributed application scaling & data processing in the cloud.
Agile software development methodology.
Highly Desirable but not required skills include:
Knowledge of automation tools such as Jenkins.
Experience with Docker.
Experience with Apigee or AWS API Gateway.
Embedded/Cloud IoT application development a plus.
Experience:
5 or more years working in software development.
2+ years developing, deploying and maintaining production web applications and/ or web API services.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
Master’s degree desired.
