Overview of business area or project:
This role will be part of AM Warehouse & BI Reporting Team under Banking Asset Management UNIFY Program. UNIFY is a very critical program for Banking Asset Management which is slated to go live next year. BI Reporting Team is a sub-stream and is responsible to setup a Data warehouse and a BI Reporting Platform to support various regulatory, performance and operational reports for Asset Management.
Overview of the department / team:
This role will be part of UNIFY's BI Reporting Team and will primarily focus on developing MicroStrategy based Reporting platform for Banking Asset Management.
The candidate will help us design MicroStrategy based reporting framework and develop various reports for regulatory, performance and operational needs. Design and implement self-service BI layer for ad hoc reports generation by end users. Currently the team has 10+ people supporting design and development of data warehouse and reporting platform.
Team is located in two regions Weehawken and Pune and operates in an onsite – offshore model and executes on Agile methodology.
Business rationale for this role
Delivery of a reporting solution is very critical for Unify program and is on the critical path. This is a key role which will contribute towards and design and development of various canned reports and self-service BI components as part of reporting platform. Since the reports run out of a data warehouse, thorough understanding of OLAP system design and star schema frameworks is very important. Hands-on experience in MicroStrategy will help deliver the project in a timely fashion.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
1. Hands-on experience in MicroStrategy Reporting, Dashboard development and modelling.
2. Minimum 5+ years of experience developing MicroStrategy based reports, dashboards and administration.
3. Experience in data warehousing projects and understanding of Star and Snowflake schemas.
4. Ability to write PL/SQL queries against data warehouses and generate reports as per requirements.
5. Administer the setup of MicroStrategy environment setup and configurations.
6. Experience working in large teams and work with little or no assistance.
7. Ability to analyze the requirements and design the reporting framework covering various aspects.
8. Excellent communication skills and ability to organize meetings to clarify requirement gaps and reviews.
9. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Nice-To-Have Skills & Qualifications:
1. Data warehousing experience with exposure to star and snow flake models.
2. Experience in banking and asset management.
3. Experience in Autosys and automation of canned reports generation.
4. Any certification on MicroStrategy tools and products.
5. Experience in generating reports out of Oracle data marts.
Candidate Value Proposition:
This candidate will join BI Team and will contribute towards design and development of reporting platform. This team is currently under staffed and this role is key to delivery this project. The delivery of this project is on the critical path of UNIFY Program and delay in filling this role will affect release timelines and go live targets.
