Looking for candidates with 1 year or less experience in Hadoop. Eager to learn, with good communication skills. Any experience in Kafa, Kudu, Scoop or StreamSets are a bonus.
The Junior Hadoop Data Engineer is responsible for design, build and operations high performance, data centric solutions utilizing the comprehensive big data capabilities of the Client's data platform environment. Work specifics will include build and optimization of Data products including models, configuration of pipelines, and management, monitoring and operations of solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work with businesses, application and process owners, and product team members to design solutions for Cargill’s big data and Advanced Analytics solutions in line with requirements
• Create or modify design documentation as defined by team development standards, processes, and tools.
• Ensure the solution designed and built is supportable when transitioned to support organization.
• Perform data modeling and prepare data in databases for reporting through various analytics tools.
• Develop technical solutions utilizing big data and cloud based technologies
• Support testing by fixing defects and making necessary back end design changes, apply test driven development principles to automate build and regression testing
Requirements:
• 3 years of IT and business/industry work experience developing data or software applications including: analysis, design, coding, testing, deploying and supporting of applications
• Knowledge of building high-performance infrastructures that are scalable and resilient
• Knowledge or applied experience and skills with message or event based platforms: Tibco, IBM MQ, or Kafka, etc.
• 2+ years applied experience with Java and/or Python
• 1+ years of applied experience with Hadoop and other big data technologies
• Experience with the Agile mindset.
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Business Related field or equivalent work experience
