Position: WAS Admin
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Duration: Long term contract
Opportunity 1: Assist with Code Remediation
necessitated by the migration of 200+ apps from P7 AIX WAS 8.0 to a P8 Linux
WAS 8.5. (WAS being WebSphere Application Server).
Key Skills: Extremely strong in Core Java, basic shell scripting, and
extremely strong troubleshooting/development experience on WAS and WebSphere
8.x Network Deployment (i.e. WAS ND).
Job Description
· 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE web applications
· Knowledge and experience with UNIX shell scripting languages utilizing solid coding practices (code re-use, functions, and comments); perl, korn shell, bash shell
· Hands on experience in SOAP/REST web services
· Experience in node JS and react is preferred
· Hands on experience with javascript/HTML
· Troubleshooting experience on IBM WebSphere Application Server and experience with WebSphere 8.x Network Deployment is preferred
· AIX 5.x/6.x experience preferred
· Candidate should be able to combine technical skills with overall application requirements to implement creative solutions
· Must be an adaptable and self-motivated team player with strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
· Able to work autonomously as well as collaborating as part of the team
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required, with ability to create and deliver effective solutions on time, and provide accurate project timelines estimates
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or has equivalent work experience
· Has experience in multiple IT disciplines with a proven understanding of architectural concepts (data, technical, and solution), issues, and trends
· knowledge and understanding applications systems design, and integration, with a detailed understanding of Object Oriented programming methodologies
· Extensive experience using a systems analysis and design methodology, and an excellent understanding of industry trends and tools
· J2EE and Gang of Four design patterns, Hands on experience with Spring Framework, Junit, automated and manual testing.
· Hands on experience with build tools like Maven, Gradle, Jenkins and experience with continuous delivery and agile frameworks.
