Security Analyst
• Familiarity with threat intel and the ability to monitor and analyze network traffic across internal organization and external county sensors searching for malicious activity through technologies like cloud web application firewall (WAF) and endpoint security solutions.
• Ability to research, contribute, validate, and share threat data under stressful circumstances.
• Ensure server health and application performance are running at optimal levels.
• Provide customer service and outreach by responding to emails and phone calls from Ohio County IT stakeholders regarding alert notifications and any cyber incidents they may be experiencing. Collaborate with internal IT engineering teams and external technical and non-technical partners to ensure maximum awareness of any and all cyber trends that could impact county entities. Assisting our support team with troubleshooting challenging issues.
• Monitor open-source technology and security resources to enhance internal security best practices.
• Partake in design, build, test, and implementation phases of programs focused on advancing security best practice to include QA and deployment.
Skills Needed:
• Experience in performing threat hunting and network monitoring.
• Programming language skillsets: Java or Python or C#.
• Experience with automation, agile software development, design and developing custom software solutions for both prototype and production-level systems.
• Configuring infrastructure systems to provide load balancing, application firewalls, reverse proxying, etc.
• Designing tools to help our entire engineering organization be as productive as possible.
• Experience improving performance and scalability with APIs.
• Must be able to obtain a national security clearance upon request.
