We would like to emphasize this is a more technical role rather than a Supply Chain position. If a candidate has supply chain experience in addition to being technical would be great but technical skills are more important.
The candidate doesn’t need to have SAS skills but Hive and SQL skills are important.
The Demand Forecasting Engine (DFE) is an AI/ML driven enterprise demand forecast product (software as a service) being consumed by users across supply-chain, merchandising and Store operations. DFE forecast helps users make effective merchandise planning and inventory planning decisions. This role is expected to define and build DFE insights and measurement product in service of its customers in supply-chain and merchandising
Roles and responsibilities
This role is responsible for monitoring DFE forecast performance, identify forecast exceptions, root-cause drivers of defects and execute corrections to the forecasts. This role will be the 1st point of contact for users and customers of DFE.
• Drive DFE Operations reviews with Business partners
• Share recent DFE forecast performance with business partners
• Diagnose reasons for product feature gaps (data, model etc.) and hold development teams responsible
• Responds to product feature related queries from business partners/users
• Own and execute forecast exception management process, analyze forecast exceptions and make manual/programmatic corrections to forecast defects.
• Educate new users about DFE product features and respond to queries
Qualifications
Must Have:
• 5 to 9 years of hands on experience as a demand planner in retail or CPG domain. Experience in associated areas like inventory planning, merchandising planning
• Experience of working with in-house or 3rd party demand planning applications like I2 demand planner, Kinaxis, Logility etc.
• Good understanding of drivers of demand by business domains
• Advanced/intermediate experience in any of these querying languages like SQL, HIVEQL
• Proficient in BI tools like Tableau, Domo, MicroStrategy etc.
• Excellent stakeholder's communication - written, verbal and telephonic
• strong communication and influencing skills, ability to work with cross-geography teams
• Ability to do quick analysis and summarize results on MS Excel, PowerPoint
Good to have
• Hands on experience in either one of the analytical platforms- R (Packages) or Python packages
• Hands on experience in statistical testing and measurement, forecasting validations
• Experience of working in an agile (scrum or kanban) product development model
• Certified APICS supply-chain and demand planning professional
