Position: SQL DBA(13+yrs exp. needed)

Location: Waukegan, IL

Type: long term contract

Position summary:

Minimum 13+ years technical experience in SQL Server production database support

• 4+ years of end to end handing/Managing a large scale complex client databases environment

• 1+ years of experience as database tower lead

• Strong knowledge in SQL DBA and capable of handling/managing other RDBMS too

• Hands on experience and Knowledge on AWS/Azure Cloud Environment

• Experience in installation and patching of SQL Server (2014,2016,2017 and 2019)

• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.

• Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools

• Strong Experience in High availability(Replication, Log shipping ,always on, cluster environment)

• Experience in virtualization environment

• Experience with MS SQL Server 2016/2017/2019 Enterprise on Windows Servers

• Experience with MS SQL Server 2014/16/17/19 in a clustered/HADR environment

• Hands on knowledge in SSIS/SSRS and SSAS

• Knowledge/experience with DR (Disaster Recovery) drill and always on

• Experience on database migrations, up-gradation and patching

• Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, Memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.

• Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations

• Experience in implementing/driving operational automation.

• Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.

• SQL Development ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design ( stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints)

• Power shell scripting knowledge

• Experience of working within an ITIL framework and/or service oriented organization

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Documentation skills for processes and procedures

• Strong team player and mentoring skills

• Hands on experience in handling critical customer

• Strong reporting and presentation skills

• Ability to negotiate and win new opportunities

• Handling MIM/PM/RCA/CAPA and other metrics related to the delivery
