The idea candidate will have an extensive background in database design, performance tuning, and programming. Most of our systems logic is written within SQL Server stored procedures, so the type of candidate will be one with a strong SQL programming, not administration, background. The person should be familiar with SQL administration concepts, such as setup and interpretation of SQL DMVs and extended events, but the role is primarily programmatic.
Job Description:
Support the full enterprise solution that covers healthcare / health insurance claims processing
Provide SQL Server database expertise
Participate in performance monitoring
Participate in database architecture design
Review database / query optimization
Implement SQL Standards and best practices
Communicate effectively with internal software team members and customers through strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Remain flexible to changes in priorities with the ability to multi-task
Skills:
• Experience in T SQL development & MSBI
• Strong technical skills with PL SQL, Stored procedures, Functions,
• T-SQL / Stored Procedure development on MS SQL database – must be very strong in backend stored procedure development and tuning
• Should be able to handle performance optimization tasks (Ex – Indexing, Partitioning, Parallelization)
• Experience with Reporting tools (ex. - Crystal Reports and SQL Reporting Services)
• SSIS / SSRS development and deployment
• SSAS knowledge would be nice to have
• Understanding of translation between multiple file formats
• Ability to use scripting languages, ETL tools and methodologies to map data between various formats
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent working knowledge of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server versions 2008R2, 2012, 2014
• Advanced knowledge & problem solving capabilities in Microsoft SSIS, SSRS
• Experience working with and configuring data-driven applications
• Must be a self-starter that enjoys working in a collaborative team focused environment
• High energy, ability to multi-task, prioritize conflicting demands
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
