Systems Engineer

Austin, TX

Long term contract

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

·       Implement, maintain, and improve Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environments

·       Own and lead initiatives to define, design, and implement DevOps solutions for change management, build/release and QA

·       Perform analysis, best practices and emerging concepts in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation

·       Perform profiling, troubleshooting of existing solutions

·       Maintain Linux-based software development lab systems, test environment and network

·       Create technical documentation

 

Requirements

 

·       5+ years DevOps and Linux system administration experience

·       Strong knowledge of system software development environments

·       Strong scripting skills and object oriented programming concepts (for example: bash, Python/Perl, good to have Javascript)

·       Experience with automated deployment, continuous integration, and release engineering tools (for example: Jenkins)

·       Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (for example: Cobbler, PXE, Kickstart, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, SaltStack)

·       Knowledge of source code repositories (for example: Git, Bitbucket)

·       Build tools (for example: make, CMake or Autotools)

·       RPM packaging and Yum/DNF repository management and mirroring

·       Virtualization environments and tools (For example: ESX, QEMU/KVM, virsh and libvirt)

·       Open source backup and synchronization tools (For example: dirvish, rsync)

·       Strong understanding of Linux installation, Virtual Server, Networking, lab management

·       BS in Computer Science or a related field

 

Nice to have:

 

·       monitoring tools and platforms (for example: mmonit, Nagios)

·       Experience with database (for example: MongoDB, SQL)

·       Understanding of service-oriented architecture (for example: REST APIs, micro-services, etc) and API implementation.

·       Lights-out management of servers with HP ILO, Dell iDRAC, DMTF SMSH or IPMI
