Project manager
Location: Dearborn, MI (Remote till pandemic)
Long term
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages large complex/multiple projects in assigned department. Manages
the plan, design, development, implementation and/or support of complex
mainframe and/or distributed information systems or corporate projects.
Develops business models, cost/benefit analysis, and recommends strategies.
Coordinates project activities and resources with other company
initiatives. Coordinates and defines technical/business requirements
needed to complete project objectives and translates requirements to detailed
specifications including budgetary projections. Ensures functional,
business and/or technical design supports project/customer requirements and
complies with Auto Club Group technology plan and existing architecture and/or
defined corporate business standards. Negotiates contracts with outside
vendors and manages vendor relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in/with:
• Cloud-based technology design, development and implementation, including
software as a service
• Iterative software methods and/or continuous integration/continuous
deployment
• Motivating teams to adopt new practices to increase quality and increase
probability of successful outcomes
• Enterprise wide business and technology planning
• Systems operation and IT service management practices
• System development methodologies and software change/configuration management
• Tools and products used in structured systems development
• Performing a variety of high level technology and/or management consulting
activities
• 5+ years in the Financial Services and online banking
• Experience with regulatory compliance and audit mitigation
Work Environment
Works indoors in a temperature controlled office environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business
Administration and a minimum of three years project leadership/management experience;
or
Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation and a minimum of three years
project leadership/management experience; or
Applicable professional certification or technology designation and a minimum
of three years project management experience; or
Experience in/with:
• Project planning and management (methods, tools and techniques)
• Leading large projects and/or programs including business and technology
teams
• Experience in solution delivery within mid-large enterprise system
environments involving shared service organizations, managed services
providers, and cloud architectures
• Driving continuous improvement of complex system and business processes with
understanding of interdependencies
• Developing and negotiating contracts with vendors, and holding vendors
accountable for fulfillment
• Facilitating agreement on objectives and developing strategic
roadmaps/release plans
• Designing communication plans and implementing routines to address all needs
from individual team contributors to CxO level
• Producing and delivering presentations to achieve understanding of complex
scenarios and facilitate effective decision making
• Alternative scenarios and cost/benefit analysis
Excellent presentation, persuasion and interpersonal skills (at the middle/senior
management level) to include report/proposal preparation and presentation. (A
writing sample will be required at time of interview.)
