JOB DESCRIPTION:

Technical QA Analyst in this position will execute required test scenarios to make sure eArraignment application and related infrastructure and components are functioning as expected after implementation of all changes required for integration with FTA application. In details, QA Analyst responsibilities will include:

  • Create, reuse, and execute scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing.
  • Test and certify that all eArraignment, FTA and DataShare architecture components are working according to business requirements and specifications.
  • Verify the message flow through various subsystems like Agency Adapter platform, MQ, Datapower, Message Broker, BPM. SnapLogic, cloud hosted environment
  • Verify that messages have been persisted in DB and UI.
  • Research problems on all functional levels.
  • Maintain up to date existing library of the scripts designed to support DataShare testing and maintenance activities.
  • Work with project management team, technical team and business unit in the requirements gathering process to determine high level designs.
  • Ensure that applications are appropriately quality assurance tested.
  • Communicate and interact with different project teams.
  • Attend project’s team meetings and some design meetings.
  • Review design project documents and provide QA comments and sign off.
  • Define test strategy based on the analysis of design document and requirements.
  • Create and execute test cases, log and assign defects and keep track of the defect status.
  • Load and maintain requirements and test cases in Quality Center.
  • Execute and track SDLC process using Quality Center.
  • Work with developers to resolve defects.
  • Report the results to the management and team lead in timely matter.
  • Participate in defining strategy for the regression test automation, design/update automated scripts where applicable.
  • Participate in the defining performance test entry/exit criteria.
  • Design performance test scripts using custom scripting, LoadRunner and other available tools.
  • Define, prepare and execute performance testing scenarios based on UI and backend load.
  • Other QA related tasks in the SDLC.
  • Maintain up to date documentation in project’s SharePoint folders.
  • Test Plan.
  • Test cases.
  • Functional test report.

MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in testing of large-scale enterprise applications
  • Hands-on development experience in one of the popular languages like C/C++. Java, VB/VBA (Excel or MS Access)/VBScript, Ruby, Perl, Groovy for the purpose of handling/validation of test data in various formats, locations, like flat files, XML files, relational databases, etc
  • Understanding the concept of messaging, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and related technologies, experience with ESBs from IBM, snapLogic, Azure cloud based integration components are preferable
  • Strong issue resolution and investigation skills
  • Ability to articulate and document the steps taken to resolve an issue
  • Ability to see tasks through to completion with minimal guidance
  • Experienced with formal SDLCs and project management methods (waterfall vs agile)
  • Experience in performing end-to-end test process for complex enterprise solutions
  • Experience in analyzing business requirements and covering them with test cases
  • Understanding of test management concepts
  • Experience with execution and tracking test process using Quality Center.
  • Understanding of a variety of programming languages, architectures, and standards like, J2EE-Java, .NET, n-tier architecture, service oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases concept, ability to design complex SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of scripting for LoadRunner and UFT/QTP
  • Strong knowledge of XML concept and related technologies like XML data models
  • Strong understanding of the process of building, validating and handling XML files using Data Type Dictionaries (DTD), XML Schemas, XPATH.
  • Ability to handle varios dta formats with manual tools as well as programmatically, including but not limited to JSON, flat files, CSV, text, etc.
  • Practical experience with automated parsing of XML files using parsers in one of the popular programming languages
  • Ability to use SQL queries for QA tasks
  • Ability to create and execute SQL queries in any of the popular GUI tools like TOAD, SQL developer, etc.
  • Understanding of the concepts and message handling for the IBM MQ system, familiarity with the MQ tools suitable for testing message delivery.
  • Practical experience in using qLoad, MsgTest scripting
  • Understanding of the SOA technology
  • Experience with testing SOA based systems using SoapUI
  • Windows

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
  • Understanding of HTML language
  • Understanding of the XML data modes like NIEM and GJXDM
  • Experience with advanced scripting as a plus
  • Experience with UI test automation concepts and tools like UFT/QTP, RFT, Selenium IDE and WebDriver
  • Understanding of ORACLE database system architecture and specifics
  • Experience with all aspects of performance testing using Load Runner and/or Performance Center like recording/scripting, adjusting and troubleshooting performance test scripts using correlation techniques
  • Knowledge of NYC Government culture
