Role: Manual QA

Duration: 6+ months

Location: Rock Island, IL

Rate: $40/hr

This is a Manual QA position on the STAR project, which involves the ongoing migration of a Cisco AMT Cobol mainframe application to the web/.Net. The testing required is primarily on the functionality of the application, to confirm that functionality migrated over from the mainframe environment to the web environment. BA skills, and requirements gathering/writing are big plusses to have as well. This person must be able to come in to an established team of 4 additional testers and perform testing on legacy .net web and thick client applications. These applications are mostly written in VB.Net. They will be executing tests as documented by other team members. Additional responsibilities include documentation, eliciting testing requirements and application functionality where not otherwise defined. All testing is documented in TFS  - specifically MTM. The tester needs to have experience working in and navigating through TFS.

To be considered:

Working knowledge of object-oriented programming (VB.Net and C#), relational database, intermediate application design, documentation, analysis

Familiarity with TFS, effective verbal and written communication skills. 

Familiarity with Agile principles, Selenium, TFS for work or source control, or any other source control tools.

Ability to document and execute test cases from live products or source code.

Previous experience testing web-based and WinForms applications in .Net and SQL.

Experience using a commercial test tool to automate test scripts for a web-based and WinForms applications.

Strong knowledge of Internet, Web-Services and Databases Programming or scripting experience.

Good time management skills. 

Able to contribute effectively with minimal supervision.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
