Location : REMOTE

Job Description
Design and develop PC-based and web-based solutions as a DevOps Engineer. Advise and work jointly with other developers in the efforts required to create and maintain applications and systems. Initiate and participate in efforts to improve all aspects of systems and software, including monitoring, code improvement, migrations, and deployments. Serve as liaison to Agents, Underwriters, Pricing personnel, Product Management, and outside vendors.
- 1 Year contract with option to extend or hire on
- Location: Can be 100% remote for the right candidate, or Omaha, NE
- Work Authorization: H1B ok, prefer someone we can hire on without sponsorship
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field or equivalent
- 3-5 years related work experience including application development, database manipulation software, and programming
- 3-5 years’ experience in at least one standard programming language (VB.NET, C#.NET, JAVA, Angular, etc.)
- 3-5 years’ experience in at least one standard scripting language (Python, JavaScript, PERL, etc.)
- 1-3 years’ experience in at least one standard application monitoring tool (SPLUNK, AppDynamics, IDERA, etc.)
- 1-3 years’ experience in at least one standard automated deployment tool (Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Information Security concepts (Secure coding, SANS, OWASP, PCI, etc.)
- Working knowledge of DevOps concepts
- Working knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure (Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline, convert legacy applications, using octopus deploy, Jenkins,
- .NET experience important, either C# or VB.
- SHELL scripting – running in a windows environment. Knowledge on servers, networking works, cloud experience – Azure, the build pipelines would be helpful. Cloud is good but prefer Azure.
- Monitoring stuff a nice to have, like splunk. Knowing how this works at a high level, but not required.
- What level – a little flexible, prefer someone is more senior to handle troubleshooting.
- Team: 2 other devs and 1 QA they are working with.
- Systems are home grown, every now and then will set up vendor systems.
- More dev-based than infrastructure. Not a lot of new development.
