We have received a new position for a Technical Architect, this position will sit in either NYC or Jersey City (Candidates have to be open to both).

Financial services experience required.

 

Managers notes:

This needs to be an experienced Architect, not a senior developer as they will be defining the overall design/structure of a system.

 

Private Banking System team is embarked on a mission to provide efficient tools to support the PB Front Office and PB Operation’s needs. As Private banking business grows, PB technology team is working on a 3-year roadmap to further enhance the technology space with state of the art technologies and innovative solutions while maintaining legacy applications

Responsibilities:

• As the technical architect, this role will be responsible for defining the overall design/structure of a systems.
• Act as a project manager, overseeing critical development efforts that improve value add for PB business
• Bring simple but innovative ideas to the team that are project-appropriate
• Distinguish and consider the business needs and deliver on those business needs
• Plan and design the structure of a technology solution
• Oversee development and implementation of programs
• Communicate system requirements to software development teams
• Evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods
• Provide technical leadership and support to software development teams
• Ensure quality and efficiency for assigned tasks and deliverables
• Address technical concerns, ideas and suggestions
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

General Skills:

 

•          Ability to interface effectively with all areas affected by the projects (e.g. business users, developers, etc.).

•          Excellent interpersonal skills and responsiveness to client need

•          Strong organizational, time management and communication (written and oral) skills

•          Ability to work with distributed teams in a dynamic, iterative development process

•          Ability to work on high-level tasks and deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously

•          Maintain a daily task list for assigned projects discussing time allotments, schedules, and delegations

•          Assist project teams to account for risks, exception scenarios

•          Prepare for regular project team meetings pertaining to project tasks, deliverables, and milestones

 

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

• B.S. or equivalent in a Computer Science
• Minimum 8 years’ experience dealing with various technologies in Application Development
• Proficient understanding of Web Applications, Business Intelligence(Qlik) and Database(Oracle and SQLServer)
• Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
• Excellent understanding of AngularJS (4.0 or above), Java, C#, .NET
• Core understanding of typography, UX, and layout, Strong, clean visual design sense
• Excellent problem-solving and issue-resolution skills
• Financial Services industry experience a plus/want
• Mobile Application development experience a plus
