JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Focus:
· Campus Community Technologies (CCT), a division of Information Technology Services, is responsible for enterprise services that meet the technology needs of academic and administrative units of the University. Our mission is to provide the Yale community with solid, integrated, discoverable, and reusable online services and environments, taking advantage of emerging technologies to shape and enhance the experience of those who interact or transact with Yale online. CCT’s Force.com Application Services Team provides platform support, consulting and application development services related to the Salesforce Lightning Platform (CRM) and the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Yale Message).
· Reporting to the Associate Director of the Force.com Application Services Team, the Senior Salesforce Developer manages the data configuration and integrations on the Salesforce platform and Salesforce Marketing Cloud in support of the Yale Message service. The developer will manage the custom components of the service as well as some front end development.

The Senior Salesforce Developer works closely with the
Yale Message service offering manager and the Force.com Application Services
team. The developer supports custom websites, code projects, and other
development work on the Salesforce platform and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
This person contributes to the growth and modification of the University’s CRM
and Yale Message platform, by acquiring and maintaining knowledge of new and
emerging applications, tools, and architecture.
Required Skill/Abilities
Required Skill/Ability #1:
Proven experience configuring and developing in Salesforce and Force.com
environments with focus on Visualforce, APEX, SOQL and Salesforce sites.
Lightning and Lightning Component experience a plus; as is front end experience
with HTML, CSS, XML, AJAX and JavaScript. Understands User Experience Design
and Web Accessibility concepts.
Required Skill/Ability #2:
Strong experience in implementing custom solutions and integrating with Third
Party applications including experience working with Web services. Experience
with and strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming techniques and
implementation strategies.
Proven experience developing highly interactive applications. Experience with
general Web architecture, such as browsers and middle tier. Familiarity with
concepts of MVC, RESTful and SOAP.
Required Skill/Ability #3:
Strong knowledge of the full software/application development cycle,
particularly in an agile environment: design, coding, testing, release,
maintenance and the ability to document requirements for custom code and
development. Experience configuring and developing SaaS/PaaS solutions. Solid
experience with relational databases, including the use of workflows and views
a plus.
Required Skill/Ability #4:
Proven strong contributor with excellent listening, verbal, and written
communication skills and high motivation to learn new technologies in a
collaborative environment with ability to work independently as well as part of
a team on multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrable skill in analyzing
complex problems and producing concrete, actionable solutions. Ability to
resolve highly complex integration issues involving multiple technology and
business areas.
Required Skill/Ability #5:
Interest in creating a culture around data, collaboration and creativity while
rapidly learning new cloud-based technologies.
Preferred Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, analytic or computer related field. Combinations
of related education and relevant experience will be considered.
2. Four (4) years of experience providing business analysis, working on complex
problems and producing concrete, actionable solutions.
3. Proven ability to provide application support through troubleshooting,
technical resolution, enhancement implementation, and best practices
development.
4. Familiarity with Salesforce CRM, Lightning Platform and the Marketing
Cloud
Preferred Licenses or Certifications:
Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I/II or equivalent
knowledge/experience;
