1) Position : Media Developer for Android Location : Novi, MI
A software engineer in this position will focus their time developing and testing software. As a Senior Engineer, they will be expected to function as a lead on some projects and mentor less experienced engineers and interns. The person most successful in this position will have a strong understanding of operating systems Android and Linux. He/she should also have solid knowledge of and experience in embedded C/C++/Java; passion for developing new products, and experience working the complete SW development life cycle.
· Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications and translates these into software designs and software implementation.
· Analyze Android Framework add features, make modifications, fix bugs for Automotive use cases while adhering to Software design and coding best practices
· Tests software designs and code at the unit and system level to ensure that all requirements are met and the highest software quality is achieved.
· Participates in internal and customer driven design reviews throughout program.
· Coordinates software development activities with software team leader
· Identifies product requirement or performance issues. Works with software team leader to negotiate resolution.
· Communicate with peers inside the Harman group to coordinate software development across different geographical regions. This includes occasional travel for training or coordination with other groups.
· Manages small projects and technical resources, including planning, estimating and follow through.
· Manages large projects and technical resources, including planning, estimating, and developing requirements in compliance with the established software development process.
· Works with the customer to further define requirements and to resolve issues.
· May direct the work of 1-2 other engineers.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
· 5 years of C/C++/Java.
· 5 years of Android framework development, Android native or Embedded Linux development is a plus.
· Familiar with Android technologies such Service, Binder, AIDL, HIDL and so on.
· Working knowledge of Android framework on Multimedia Engine.
· Experience developing and debugging software in a multithread, multiprocessor and multi-interface environment.
· Knowledge of software development processes.
Required Competencies:
· Android framework experience in Multimedia.
· Hands on experience in developing Multimedia applications at least for one of the following Media devices: USB, MTP, iPod, Bluetooth, Rear Seat Entertainment.
Preferred Qualifications and Desired Competencies:
· Strong debugging and problem solving skills
· Experience working in a highly agile distributed team
· Strong in concepts of multithread programming.

4) Position : Android HMI Developer
Location : Novi ,MI
Duration : Long Term
· Provide guidance on the security technology aspects from network and architecture level to embedded levels for Harman’s core platform technologies, for customer engagements during RFx and program execution process throughout the product life cycle.
· Perform Threat Assessment , analyze attack vectors, review security requirements, systems and software architectures from a security standpoint and provide guidance for required implementation for Harman’s core technology and strategic projects
· Articulate secure systems for software and hardware development and circulate thru the Customer Program (CPM) and Center of Competence (CoC) teams.
· Work with fellow Cyber Security Architects to define security requirements for cross-functional teams in developing systems.
· Define specs for security testing and acceptance criteria ,Define routine code analysis checks, establish policy for fuzz testing and functional security testing and Review policy adherence throughout lifecycle.
· Through Harman’s SDL Process, review technical security details of the products used in Harman systems, both hardware and software.

· Will have to solve complex cyber security challenges balancing between requirments, state of the art security technologies and cost.

Basic Qualifications:
· BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
· At least 10 years as a security architect for embedded systems
· At least 5 years of hands-on experience in either implementation of security mechanisms or reverse engineering of embedded systems
· Experience in software project management
· Experience in applied cryptography and design of crypto-based mechanisms
· Experience in handling various HW platforms and various operating systems
· Experience in working in a global corporate with diverse technology teams and customers
