Job Description:

 

Java Support Engineer

San Jose, CA (Remote)

6+ months

 Passport and Linkedln id is mandatory

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience
• Programming experience in Java and SQL. Scala is a plus.
• A general understanding of big data distributed compute framework, e.g. Hadoop, Spark.
• Knowledge of Presto or Trino is a plus
• A general understanding of cloud, e.g. cloud storage(Google Cloud Storage or Amazon S3), cloud computation(Amazon EMR, Redshift, or Google BigQuery)
• Capability of supporting customers, including help Presto users troubleshoot query failures, finding root cause
• Capability of supporting Presto cluster operations, including parameter tuning, building page-duties and alerts to monitor cluster health, and backport open source patches into Twitter internal branches
• Drive the migration of Presto to BigQuery in 2022, including working closely with the teams for BigQuery & Presto, implementing plans, help users, and building tools to achieve it.
