Role: Oracle PL/SQL Developer

Location: Hartford, CT

Duration: 6+ Months
 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

·         Client’s organization is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Application Developer to support data projects in Hartford, CT.

·         Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent software development skills and expertise with Oracle PL/SQL and Java. Candidates must have experience in managing multiple priorities while delivering quality technical solutions in a fast-paced development environment. 

Responsibilities of the position include: 

·         Excellent software development skills and expertise with Oracle PL/SQL and Java.

·         Actively address technical issues and risks that could impact project schedule and/or budget.

·         Ake decisions quickly in consultation with team members and subject matter experts.

·         Experience in managing multiple priorities while delivering quality technical solutions in a fast-paced development environment

·         Ability to work both independently and as a team member including the Business areas, sourcing partners, solution architects and other IT areas.

·         Work with the Enterprise Architecture team and Tech Leads to ensure that the technical solution designs and implementation are consistent with the architectural strategic visions.

·         Own the adoption of DevOps tools and best practices (including code automation, reducing/eliminating technical debt, and delivering vulnerability free code) across the application portfolio.

·         Willingness to learn and understand Group Benefit’s existing applications and processes.

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem solving skills and adapting to or leading change by influencing and educating the Business, IT and Sourcing partners.

·         Knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, scrum theory, rules and practices are a plus.

·         Experience implementing systems and components on Weblogic, JBoss, and Oracle platforms.

·         Understanding of Java/J2EE technologies such as MDB, JMS, JDBC along with the Spring Framework.

·         Knowledge of Web Services (SOAP and Rest).

·         Experience in developing in Oracle Forms and .Net applications is a plus.

·         Strong understanding of Object Oriented design and methodologies.

·         Demonstrated ability to complete tasks within established timelines.

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Strong communication and relationship building skills.

·         Agile methodology knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

·         Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field.

·         Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on experience developing in Oracle PL/SQL.

·         1-2 Experience with Java applications.
