JOB DESCRIPTION:
• The Business Intelligence Developer/Data Analyst will work collaboratively with business users to perform healthcare data analysis to provide answers to complex operational challenges.
• The North Carolina State Health Plan (Plan) offers medical and pharmacy benefits for more than 700,000 teachers, state employees, retirees and dependents.
• The Plan is seeking a business intelligence developer with deep experience in SQL and SAS coupled with significant expertise with health benefits management, healthcare data, and health insurance financials.
• The role is to gather business requirements, identify data needs and delivery mechanisms; perform data discovery and data mining across large healthcare datasets, including eligibility, medical and pharmacy claims, provider, and financial data; develop BI content (reports, dashboards, scorecards, analytic solutions); and present analytically complex results that are easily understand.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years’ experience data analysis using healthcare claims, eligibility & enrollment, medical provider, and/ or financial data. Ideally in an insurance setting.
• 5+ years’ experience using SAS EG and Visual Analytics tools to develop reports and dashboards
• 5+ years’ experience using base and advanced SQL to extract and manipulate data
