Job Title: Sr Software Engineer

Location/Remote: 100% remote

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: long term contract

Pay Rate: Based on Experience

Who and What WSI Does?

American publicly traded consumer retail company that sells kitchenware and home furnishings, which is experiencing major growth during the past 2 year. Underneath we operate in 2 parts IT Division and Supply-Chain Management division.

 

Why do we need you?

Williams Sonoma is building web services on AS400 and looking for a candidate with experience in ILE (newer version of AS400).

 

Essential Functions:

  • As a senior engineer, responsibility includes leading a project team of engineers and QA members to meet project objectives
  • Understands business requirements and author technical designs/requirements
  • Maintains existing code and authors new programming tasks following all development standards
  • Writes unit and functional automated tests
  • Participates in code reviews to ensure standards are met by other teams
  • Provides technical guidance to other members to solve issues
  • Follows prescribed process, able to observe deviations from the process and suggest course corrections
  • Shares discoveries and best practices
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of one or more retail/ecommerce domains

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of work or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years relevant work experience in AS400/RPG programming
    • Specific experience with ILE concepts required
  • Experience with EDI/data transmission a plus
  • Background working on Warehouse Management System (Manhattan PkMS, WMOS) and Rate Shopping tools (Proship).
  • Experience working with multiple databases like DB2, SQL, Oracle
  • Experience working in both Agile as well as waterfall development methodologies
  • Familiar with industry standards around IT change management and development deployments
  • Experience with cross-platform integration between the iSeries and .net and/or java applications
