Job description.
The Senior Data Architect is responsible for ETL strategy, architecture, design and development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), designing and writing ETL code and batch management and error handling processes. Additional responsibilities include the documentation of technical specifications and related project artefacts, including solutions-oriented design across the data warehouse
Responsibilities:
· Leads, designs, builds, tests and maintains data marts, data warehouses, data lakes and data pipelines.
· Works with internal and external data providers and subject matter experts to understand data sources and formats.
· Understands and influences the data provider roadmap of planned changes.
· Advocates for additional data sets and elements to improve delivered data products.
· Should be good in Data Modelling
· Should be good in Impact analysis
· Leads, designs and develops ETL processes for the data warehouse lifecycle (staging of data, ODS data integration, EDW and data marts).
· Technical Design of core application components
· Mentor and guide development staff in broader application development
· Work with database team members to maximize application performance and availability.
· Design and implement the data integration platform, extensive experience with the Informatica suite, and Data Quality are required.
· Works with the Client’s Data Architect to design and develop the Data Warehouse.
· Identifies opportunities for process improvement/optimization; designs and implements these improvements as directed.
· Mentors and trains other ETL staff members in best practices.
