Title: Database Developer
Duration: 3-6 month contract
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Interview process: Phone screen, then Face to Face Interview, including a hands on Java development test

Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Proficient in PL/SQL and Transact SQL, Oracle, 4+ years of experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• 4 years minimum experience as a database developer utilizing SQL Server and Oracle
• Proficient in PL/SQL and Transact SQL
• Ability to write complex SQL queries
• Ability to create and maintain packages, procedures, function, triggers and user defined types
• Ability to help maintain database testing environment for various development groups
• Ability to perform data analysis
• Ability to interpret Entity Relationship diagrams
• Experience with indexes and table constraints
• Experience with dynamic SQL, cursors and collections
• Experience with all stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
• Experience with ETL tasks and application tuning
• Must have considerable experience utilizing SSIS
• Experience with Analysis Services and Reporting Services preferred
• Experience with performance tuning
• Knowledge of database administration, particularly the creation and management of schema objects
• Effectively employ general coding standards/best practices (understand and apply newest features depending on version of tool being used)
• Actively participate in the design and build phases of the SDLC
• Collaborates with professional staff to refine specifications for data requests
• Generates datasets and reports
• Works with software development team(s) in the creation of database schema objects, integrity constraints, triggers, stored procedures and functions
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation
• Ensure delivered work meets/performs to technical and functional requirements by serving as a testing resource in both unit and user acceptance testing phases
• Assist with planning and execution of unit, integration and user acceptance testing
• Must be a goal-focused, self-starter capable of working with minimum supervision and managing mutiple tasks concurrently
• Adhere to company and project methodologies, procedures and policies
• Ability to work with project managers and client departments to report project progress
• Effectively communicate status of assigned projects/tasks
• Ability to work directly with non-technical users to identify and capture business requirements
• Initiative to solve problems and prevent their re-occurrence
• A wide degree of creativity and lateral thinking is expected
• Demonstrate time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Performs other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 4 years of work experience required
