Expectations and Responsibilities:
Deep working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure.
o Creating and maintaining AWS Cloud Formation Scripts, ECS, EC2, etc
CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, Terraform, TeamCity, Ansible
Apache technologies: ELK, Spark, Tableau, Zookeeper, Kafka, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, etc
Collecting, monitoring and analyzing systems performance: Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc
Develop, document and maintain procedures for migrating, validating, and monitoring service stacks .
Create automated tasks with shell scripts (bash, python).
Monitoring and understanding security events with WAFs, IDS/IPS, and access logs.
Networking (TCP/IP) configuration including Firewall ACL's and security.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of IT/Engineering experience.
3+ years working on distributed systems.
3+ years of architecting services on AWS.
Experience with virtual infrastructure and support (VMWare/AWS).
Deep AWS knowledge base is preferred.
Must be proficient with most flavors of Linux/Windows.
Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Sciences Technology or related fields.

Proficient knowledge of DevOps concepts related to CI/CD.

Technical Skills:
Linux knowledge in a virtualized environment is required.
AWS experience and certification(s) a plus.
Experience with development / CI applications such as Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub, etc.
Experience with containers & orchestration – Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad
Experience with Service Meshes or Envoy Proxy
Experience with Observability frameworks like OpenTelemetry and tools like HoneyComb, Light Step etc.
Experience with Continuous Delivery tools like Spinnaker, Harness, AWS CodeDeploy
Experience with Service to Service Communication paradigms – gRPC, REST
Experience developing with additional languages – Go, Python, Bash, Java
Knowledge of Hashicorp tools - Consul, Vault, Nomad
Knowledge of networking concepts.
Proficiency in documentation is required.
VM performance monitoring, capacity planning and redundancy planning
Understanding of Internet security best practices.
