Candidate must be hands-on with below – these are all MUST HAVEs:

Automating build & deployment process in Ant and Maven

Strong experience in Agile environment

Excellent scripting skills in UNIX/Perl/Python or any language

Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Cruise Control

Development background in Java is preferred

Experience with environment configuration tools like Puppet and Chef

Position Description: 

The Senior DevOps engineer will assess, design, and develop enterprise continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) framework enabling enterprise-wide adoption of DevOps solutions. The capabilities will enable the automated, repeatable and fast deployment of applications to all controlled test and production environments. This role will be responsible for leading all release engineering activities including but not limited to deliver and on-board DevOps solutions like enterprise continuous integration/deployments framework & automated provisioning of servers/environments to all the applications. The engineer will be accountable for source code control, build and deployment management, environment configuration management and technicalproject management activities. 

We are looking for a CI/CD system engineering Subject Matter Expert with proven track record in implementing enterprise scalable automated build, deployment and release management practices and with specialized skills in the following disciplines: 

 Develop sound version control best practices based on COT CM systems (Clearcase, Subversion, GIT-STASH, JIRA... etc.), including branching and merging strategies. 

 Strong hands-on experience with software build technologies like Ant, Maven, Gradle etc. and continuous build & deployment tools like Jenkins, Nexus, Puppet...etc. and assist in developing & implementing the best practices. 

 Participate in release team meetings (CRB/DRB) and pertaining to the release process release schedule through completion. 

 Identify, analyze, coordinate, and resolve environment and infrastructure needs to ensure the smooth running applications. 

 Plan and manage releases/deployment of code through different environments (Development, Test, UAT, PERF and Production) including: 

o Coordination of environment preparation, development and test activities 

o Incident management of both lower and production environments 

o Establish and maintain environment configuration specification, manage upgrade process, deployment history, and communication to all stakeholders 

 Architect and implement release management metrics required to bring in transparency to code migrations to development, testing, staging, through production environments. 

 Generate release management & continuous integration adoption rate reports. 

 Manage the production release process and implementation plan that ensures the reliability and availability of the platform. Identify, analyze, coordinate, and resolve environment and infrastructure needs to ensure a smooth running application. 

Qualifications: 

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or any Engineering, advanced degree a plus 

Strong programming skills in Shell & Perl scripting 

Knowledge of SCM concepts (code lines, branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.) 

Technical Project Management experience utilizing ITIL service management practices 

7 or more years of professional experience in managing Build and Release engineering,in both UNIX & Windows operating systems 

Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills 

Clarity and precision in verbal and written communications 

Ability to work with customers, developers, testing, project management and support staff 

Familiarity with various SDLC methodologies like waterfall, modified waterfall and Agile & frameworks for managing development processes like Scrum & Kanban 

Experience acquiring in-depth understanding of large complex software systems to isolate defects, reproduce defects, assess risk and understand varied customer deployments 

Strong knowledge on the following tools:
