Job Title:   Data Integration Specialist
Location:    Raleigh , NC
Duration:    Long Term Position
 
Job Responsibilities:
Using processes to automate the extraction and manipulation of data from the clients database using the following languages: SQL, Visual Basic, Python, and other methods
Implementing data solutions by determining customer requirements for the install and integration setup
Working with Project Managers during the implementation process for tier 2 and tier 3 clients to meet milestones built into the implementation project plan
Working with Terminal, Visual Basic scripts, SFTP, Shell scripts, Windows services, XML, Unix/Linux, SAML, and SOAP Web Services
Understand and be able to perform basic SQL queries to extract required data from customer databases in the appropriate format
Manipulating data using python to reformat and clean the data for successful processing
Accessing the customers machine remotely to implement new integration processes as well as troubleshoot existing issues in their code
Implementing creative solutions to automate data exports from dozens of different K12 Student Information Systems
Working with Vendors, Third Party companies, and official Blackboard Partners to establish data connections and implement data transfers for customers
Applying systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications
Analyzing database structures and information tracking policies at client organizations
Documenting established data integration solutions, and promoting knowledge of Student Information Systems in all departments of the business
Using Salesforce CRM software to log all actions on work completed
 
Required Skills:
Familiarity with SQL Server, MS Access, Oracle, MySQL
Ability to work with VBScript and VBA, XML, Python; additional technical skills will be required for specific projects
Ability to work with various protocols such as:  HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, and SOAP
Basic knowledge of a variety of scripting languages
Ability to analyze data structure of student information systems in order to design exports appropriate for various functions
Basic level Excel skills including but not limited to:  formulas, pivot tables, and VBA (for macros and custom functions)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
Familiarity with Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, and Chrome
 
PREFERRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
Previous experience in a K-12 or higher education setting
Previous experience in effective account management, strong customer orientation, and client renewal process
Ability to act as advocate for clients to drive feature enhancements, efficient processes, and general product/service improvement
Ability to support Marketing, Sales, RFP, and other efforts towards successful client acquisition and retention
Access and previous data management experience
Familiarity with Salesforce and other ASPs
