Role: EMC Storage Engineer
Location: San Francisco, CA
Type: 6+ months
Job Responsibilities
Maintain HA/DR solutions for physical (Cisco UCS) and virtual (VMware) servers
Maintain, upgrade, and performance tune VMware infrastructure covering multiple environments and Active Directory domains using PowerCLI
Help to design and build self-service/automated deployment solution for VMware
Manage EMC VMAX SAN and Isilon NAS storage solutions
Modernize legacy systems, solutions, and processes where possible
Develop and maintain documentation and scripts that increase system efficiency
Work with development teams to ensure IT support and standards maintenance throughout SDLC
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability by working with IT, development, and business team members
Work with other IT staff and vendors to resolve issues as they arise
Preferred qualifications :
BS Degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience
Five years’ experience as a mid-to-senior-level Systems Engineer
Proven experience working with platform monitoring tools
Experience configuring and deploying platform management and monitoring tools
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Attention to detail and a drive to always make things better
Experience with the following is a plus :
Big data technologies
Atlassian Stack: JIRA, Stash (Bitbucket Server), Fish Eye, Crucible, Bamboo
Cloud IaaS and PaaS, and middleware technologies
Automated deployment tools such as Puppet / Chef / Salt / Ansible·
Modern security standards and best practices
