Job Title : Technical Support Engineer / Vmware Engineer
Location : Durham, NC
Duration : 7+Months Contract
 
Experience:
7+ years’ experience troubleshooting IT infrastructure technologies such as servers, networking, and storage software and hardware.
7+ years’ experience working in a customer-facing support role dealing with enterprise IT customers.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
Hands on experience debugging systems.
 
Required Skills:
Excellent customer communication skills via phone, email, chat. Ability to handle critical customer issues with confidence.
Advance experience with network troubleshooting, packet capture and analysis, good understanding of layer 2/3 protocols.
Experienced with VMware technologies – VMware Certified Professional preferred.
Experience with storage architecture and related technologies.
OS and System Administration experience with Linux.
VMware VCAP or equivalent experience
Advanced VMware knowledge
Networking (DVS Management & Migrations)
vCenter administration (HA/DRS/SSO/Webclient/Services)
Storage (NFS/iSCSI/FC setup and troubleshooting) Solutions
Experience with business continuity
Horizon View VDI
Citrix XenDesktop VDI
Cisco UCSM and UCS Director
VMware VRA
RapidDR
HyperV
Ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies and products.
Good writing skills to create knowledgebase articles, case documentation, and escalations to engineering.
 
Desirable Skills:
Experience with Salesforce.com CRM & Case Management.
Experience with WebEx and remote troubleshooting.
