I hope you are well. I am David Robins from the International Budget Partnership (IBP), a leading NGO that partners globally with civil society, community organizers, government champions, and budget analysts to promote more responsible, effective, and equitable management of public money.

I’m pleased to share that the IBP, together with the University of Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), will convene a special event in Washington, DC and on Zoom on June 23: Making Public Money Work for All.

The event will feature the global launch of the Open Budget Survey (OBS) 2025 – the world’s leading assessment of transparency, oversight, and public participation in national government budgets – and mark 20 years since the OBS was first implemented. It will be an opportunity to reflect on two decades of evidence and country experience on budget accountability, and to discuss what it will take for public resources to be managed in ways that are more transparent, equitable, and responsive to people’s needs.
