Dear US Open Gov community,
(apologies for cross-posting)
I hope you are well.
Open Ownership, the World Bank Group’s Beneficial Ownership Transparency Thematic Working Group, and the Centre for the Study of Corruption at the University of Sussex are pleased to announce a call for submissions to the:
2026 Research symposium: Evidence and impact of beneficial ownership transparency, 26-27 February 2026 at the University of Sussex (UK) and online.
This one and a half day research symposium aims to support evidence-based policymaking, implementation, and advocacy of beneficial ownership transparency (BOT) reforms. The Symposium will be designed as a generative dialogue and connection space among researchers and academic experts in the field, as well as hosting a diversity of individuals from academia, multilateral agencies, civil society, and the public sector. The aim is to share and promote novel empirical research on topics related to BOT for legal vehicles and assets.
We welcome applications to present at the Symposium from researchers, advocates, practitioners and others working on research in the areas of:
1) BOT policy design and implementation;
2) impact measurement and data use; and
3) BOT of assets and other horizon issues.
A small number of travel and accommodation bursaries will be available by application.
You can find the full call for submissions here and the deadline for submissions is 16 November 2026. We hope that this symposium may be of interest for you or others in your networks. Thank you very much in advance for sharing this call, if you are able to.
