TODAY: Select Committee to Hold Hearing on Restoring Congressional Capacity

 

Hearing will examine Congress’ current Article One capacity and explore opportunities for reform  

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chair Derek Kilmer (D-WA) of the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress (“Select Committee”) announced that the Select Committee will hold a hearing today, Tuesday, January 14th titled “Article One: Restoring Capacity and Equipping Congress to Better Serve the American People.”

WHAT:

The Select Committee will hold a hearing titled “Article One: Restoring Capacity and Equipping Congress to Better Serve the American People.” The purpose of this hearing is to explore Congress’ diminished capacity to function as a co-equal branch of government and explore options for reestablishing Congress as the “first branch” of government, ensuring it can perform its Article One obligations.
