You’re invited to participate in several key Open Government events happening in the coming month. Please feel free to share the information below with your networks.


Public Input for U.S. 6th Open Government National Action Plan (NAP 6):

Help shape NAP 6 by submitting your ideas via our Request for Information.



Draft Public Participation and Community Engagement (PPCE) Guidance and Toolkit:

The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is seeking public comments on draft guidance for Federal agencies on broadening public participation and community engagement. OMB has also released the draft outline of a toolkit to help agencies plan and conduct meaningful public engagement for public comment.


  • Public Participation and Community Engagement (PPCE) Listening Sessions
    • In addition to, or instead of, submitting written feedback, consider attending a virtual event to learn more and provide live input on the draft documents.



  • Public Listening Session #3: Open Government-specific

The U.S. Open Government Secretariat and the White House Office of Performance and Personnel Management are partnering to hold a virtual PPCE listening session specifically for the Open Government Community. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.

Open Government Partnership América Abierta 2024 Conference:

For the first time, Brazil is hosting Open America, which brings together renowned international experts for sessions focused on research, publication and use of open data related to topics such as transparency, access to information, open government, civic technologies, data journalism, digital government, accountability, and equity.



Save the Date: International Anti-Corruption Day Event

December 9th is International Anti-Corruption Day, and the U.S. Open Government Secretariat and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy are partnering to put on a virtual event that afternoon.

Save the Date: Open Government Federal Advisory Committee (OG FAC) Meetings:

The OG FAC plans to hold virtual public meetings in December 2024, January 2025, and February 2025. 





NAP 5 Progress Updates

We are working to provide NAP 5 commitment and sub-commitment progress updates on our new U.S. Open Government website by the end of the calendar year. Stay tuned for a follow up email when those updates are posted.
