Hi everyone,
I've obviously just banned Sharon Susan for pitching overpriced, low quality duct cleanings. Those who shared their email addresses with her should contact me regarding a bridge for sale with a great view of New York City.
Since this is an open government list, I wanted to share a quick reminder that the Congressional Data Task Force will meet this Thursday, March 26, from 2:00–4:00 pm ET. The meeting is hybrid—join in person or online.
RSVP link on this page.
As you know, the Task Force brings together legislative branch offices and civil
society partners to improve how congressional information is created, standardized, and shared.
At the December 2025 meeting, participants highlighted ongoing efforts to improve legislative data access and transparency. The Government Publishing Office announced a new Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to support AI access to GovInfo publications. Other updates included progress on the legislative data map, the House’s forthcoming committee portal, expanded access to the comparative print suite in the Senate, and continued work on video access and Congress.gov improvements led by the Library of Congress.
Full summary here.
Thursday’s
agenda includes updates from GPO, House offices (Clerk, CAO, HDS), the Senate Secretary’s Office, civil society partners, and the Library of Congress. As always, there will be time for Q&A.
Finally, ICYMI, House officers and legislative branch agency heads testified before House Appropriators last week, including on technology developments.
Summary here. We also submitted
testimony supporting additional staff capacity for the CDTF, along with
appropriations recommendations that included technology modernization.
With best wishes,
Daniel
