Role Overview
We are looking for a Microsoft Fabric Architect & Administrator to lead the design, implementation, and governance of a modern, unified data platform. This role will own the end-to-end Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, including One Lake architecture, data engineering frameworks, governance policies, and platform administration.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise (Spark, SQL, Delta Lake) with strategic data architecture and platform governance experience, enabling scalable, secure, and AI-ready data systems.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Platform Administration & Governance
- Manage and configure the Microsoft Fabric tenant to ensure security, compliance, and feature enablement
- Monitor and optimize Fabric Capacity (F-SKUs) for performance and cost efficiency
- Implement and enforce:
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Row-Level Security (RLS)
- Object-Level Security (OLS)
- Integrate with Microsoft Purview for data cataloging, lineage, and compliance
- Define and enforce Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies
- Establish logging, alerting, and monitoring using Azure Log Analytics
- Identify and mitigate performance bottlenecks (e.g., noisy workloads, throttling issues)
🔹 Architecture & Data Engineering
- Design and implement OneLake-based unified data architecture
- Build Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) using Fabric Lakehouses and Warehouses
- Develop scalable data pipelines using:
- Data Factory pipelines
- Dataflows Gen2
- Design efficient data ingestion patterns from SaaS and enterprise sources
- Optimize performance using DirectLake mode for near real-time analytics
- Guide engineering teams on best practices for efficient Fabric usage and cost control
🔹 DevOps & Lifecycle Management
- Establish CI/CD pipelines using Git integration
- Manage environment lifecycle across Dev, Test, and Production
- Standardize deployment and version control practices
🔹 Power BI & Data Enablement
- Define governance standards for Power BI usage across business teams
- Enable self-service analytics while maintaining data security
- Train and support business users on data access and reporting
🔹 Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (onshore/offshore)
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams
- Drive data strategy to eliminate silos and enable enterprise-wide insights
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in:
- Data Architecture
- Data Engineering
- 1–2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
(or strong expertise in Power BI + Azure Synapse / Databricks) - Strong technical skills in:
- PySpark / Spark Notebooks
- T-SQL
- DAX
- Proven experience designing enterprise data architectures (OneLake / Lakehouse models)
- Experience with:
- Data governance and security frameworks
- Performance tuning and capacity optimization
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

- DP-600: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
- AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Experience with:
