Role: SAP FICO Product Costing & Controlling Consultant

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

Duration: 5 months

Experience: 15+ Years

 

Responsibilities:

• We are seeking an experienced SAP FICO Product Costing Consultant who will be responsible for end-to-end design, configuration, and support of Product Costing and Controlling processes in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.
• The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, cross-functional SAP teams (SD, MM, PP, CO-PA), and active participation in implementations, rollouts, conversions, and AMS engagements.
• The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, technical teams, and migration leads to ensure accurate and timely migration of SD data from legacy systems into SAP

Key Responsibilities

• Product Costing & Controlling
• Configure and support Product Costing components:

• Cost Component Structure
• Costing Variants (Standard Costing, Preliminary Costing)
• Costing Versions and Valuation Variants

• Perform Material Cost Estimates using:

• BOMs and Routings
• Production Versions

• Support Standard Cost Calculation, Release, and Marking
• Handle Cost Roll-up from raw materials to finished goods
• Manage Cost Object Controlling:

• Product Cost by Order
• Product Cost by Period (S/4HANA)

Actual Costing & Period-End Activities

• Configure and execute Actual Costing / Material Ledger

• Multiple valuation approaches
• Price determination (Single/Multi-level)

• Perform Period-End Closing activities:

• Work-in-Progress (WIP)
• Variance Calculation
• Settlement to FI / CO-PA

• Analyze Production Variances (Input, Output, Lot Size, Price Variance

Integration & Cross-Module Coordination

• Ensure seamless integration with:

• MM (Material Master, Inventory Valuation)
• PP (BOM, Routing, Production Orders)
• SD (CO-PA, Profitability Analysis)
• FI (GL, Asset Accounting, ML postings)

• Support CO-PA integration (Costing-based and Account-based)

S/4HANA & Transformation Activities

• Work on ECC to S/4HANA Conversion Programs

• Support Simplification Items related to Product Costing
• Handle S/4HANA-specific changes:

• Universal Journal (ACDOCA)
• Actual Costing enhancements

• Support Data Migration & Reconciliation activities
• Participate in Cutover Planning and Execution

Reporting & Analysis

• Develop and support reports using:

• SAP Standard Reports
• Embedded Analytics (S/4HANA)

• Perform detailed Cost Analysis and Margin Analysis
• Support management reviews with cost breakdowns and variance insight

Governance & Support

• Prepare Functional Specifications for enhancements
• Support testing cycles:

• Unit Testing
• Integration Testing
• UAT
• Provide AMS / Hypercare / Issue Resolution support
• Create process documentation, SOPs, and KT materials
