Job Description:
 
Position Name -  Performance Engineer
Location              -  Boston, MA
 
 
The Performance Engineer is responsible for performance benchmark testing for the XXXXX  White Label Wallet platform. This includes developing, continuously improving and delivering a repeatable Performance Benchmarking processes and publishing internal documentation of performance changes (both positive and negative) for each release. In addition to these regular continuous tests, they are also responsible for planning, organizing and executing performance & scale up tests.
 
A key part of the role is providing feedback to the product and development teams on potential preformance improvements. A deep understanding of performance & scalability measurement techniques and engineering is vital for the role, including knowledge of using performance measurement tools, modifying and/or writing new code, nbuilding applications and testing to ensure performance gains are achieved.
 
Responsibilities
Specifically, the Performance Engineer will need to:
• Manage, plan for and execute benchmark testing for new builds as part of the development
lifecycle
• Identify measurement and automation tools to streamline the benchmarking process
• Publish findings and escalate issues for each test
• Manage, plan for and execute large scale performance & scale tests
• Manage the Performance & Scale environment
• Analyze test results and work with development team to identify areas for improvement
• Provide technical assistance to improve system performance, capacity, reliability and
scalability.
• Oversee system performance lifecycle and identify key metrics for performance
improvements.
• Generate periodic performance reports for team and management review.
 
Required Skills
5+ years’ experience of Performance Monitoring & Tuning including, but not limited to:
• Proficient with Performance Testing tool J Meter on Windows and Linux/Unix OS.
• Proficient in CI/CD tool Jenkin.
• Proficient Programming skill with Python.
• Experience in writing SQL queries for Oracle DB.
• Experience in analyzing performance metrics.
• Hands on experience in using Splunk and Datadog.
• Good knowledge about API testing.
• Good communication skills.
 
Desired Skills:
• Prior experience of working with Splunk SDK, Data Dog SDK, Boto SDK.
• Prior experience of working with AWS Cloud Watch.
• Prior experience of working on Java based application platform, preferably micro service
applications.
• Exposure to Oracle DB.
• Exposure to Agile project management.
Educational Requirements
• Bachelor / Masters in computer science.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
