Role : OpenShift Engineer.
Location: Dallas, TX – need locals - Hybrid
Duration: 1 year contract; should get extended
The ideal candidate for the OpenShift/Cloud Engineer role
will be responsible for engineering, supporting, and automating the company’s
Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions while providing strategic guidance. This
individual will play a key role in facilitating application migrations to PaaS
environments and performing related initiatives to ensure seamless integration
and operational excellence.

Needed:
- 5+ years of combined experience administering Red Hat
OpenShift across VMs, bare metal, and ROSA environments
- Hands-on expertise with OpenShift Container Platform
(v4.15 through latest stable versions)
- Proficiency with OpenShift Data Foundation and
OpenShift Platform Plus
- Strong knowledge of Ceph administration
- Cloud administration experience with AWS, Azure, and/or
IBM Cloud
- Deep understanding of Linux containers (Docker),
Kubernetes, and deployment of containerized applications and microservices
architectures
- Working knowledge of Java, JBoss, Nginx, Node.js, and
enterprise application architectures
- Proven experience in migrating and refactoring
applications to containerized workloads
- Skilled in at least one configuration management or
scripting technology
- Experience with automated deployment tools
- Solid conceptual and practical understanding of DevOps
principles, tools, and practices
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab,
Jenkins, Chef, Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage
multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex
technical issues and producing clear written, oral, and digital
documentation
- Working knowledge of networking concepts, including
protocols, firewalls, and load balancers
- Commitment to documentation, knowledge sharing, and
team training
Preferred:
- Proficiency with VMware technologies, including
vCenter, vRA, and vRO
- Hands-on experience running OpenShift on bare metal
- Familiarity with ROSA (Red Hat OpenShift Service on
AWS)
- Practical experience with Microsoft Azure
- Working knowledge of SSL certificate management
- Experience collaborating within Agile teams, including
tools, practices, and ceremonies (Kanban, stand-ups, sprints, etc.)
- Ability to stay current with industry standards and
emerging technologies
- Expertise in container and pod-level monitoring and
logging using tools such as Dynatrace and QRadar
Duties:
- Administer, operate, and maintain multiple OpenShift
clusters
- Design and implement automation for platform
provisioning and operational tasks
- Assist application teams with migration and refactoring
to containerized workloads
- Manage and support OpenShift Platform Plus and
associated services
- Enforce and maintain cluster security, governance, and
compliance standards
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform and
containerized application performance
- Collaborate with DevOps and CI/CD teams to streamline
deployment processes
- Develop and maintain documentation for procedures, best
practices, and technical solutions
- Share knowledge and provide guidance and training to
team members
