Role: Junior IT Specialist (GIS)

Location: Hybrid – 3 days onsite (Brooklyn, NY – Locals Only)
Duration: 12 Months
Visa: GC / USC / GC-EAD / H4
Interview Mode: Skype (On-site technical interview required)
Rate: $60/hr. (C2C/1099)
Experience Required: 5+ Years

• Gas / Energy / Electric / Utilities / Oil industry experience highly preferred

Position Overview:

• Junior IT Specialist with strong GIS background (ESRI ArcGIS & Schneider Electric ArcFM)
• Ideal for professionals with 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Esri-based GIS platforms
• Experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcFM required
• Responsible for maintaining stability, scalability, and performance of GIS platforms supporting utility operations
• Should be self-driven, solution-oriented, and adaptable in dynamic environments

Responsibilities:

• Design, maintain, and optimize enterprise GIS platforms (ArcMap, ArcFM, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Pro)
• Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams
• Perform performance tuning across application, database, and server layers
• Troubleshoot complex GIS issues affecting end-users
• Develop custom GIS tools and solutions for utility workflows
• Manage upgrades, patches, and enhancements with minimal operational disruption
• Document solutions, testing processes, recovery plans, and support procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of GIS system support/engineering experience (utility domain preferred)
• Strong expertise in ArcFM, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcMap, and related ESRI tools
• Proficiency in Python (ArcPy) for automation and testing
• Strong communication and stakeholder interaction skills
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
