Role Overview: Seeking an experienced iOS-Android Full Stack Software Engineer to lead end-to-end development of new features for the NYC Secure App and related digital platforms. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and privacy-first applications to help protect New Yorkers from online and phone-based scams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop well-documented, testable, production-ready code across web and mobile platforms
- Design and implement core logic for iOS and Android applications
- Build responsive, accessible frontend applications using NYC Design System
- Integrate digital reporting systems with NYC platforms (including 311)
- Ensure strong data privacy and security practices (privacy-by-design)
- Write and execute unit tests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, design)
- Participate in architecture reviews and technical strategy discussions
Required Skills & Experience:
- 9+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack web development expertise
- Responsive frontend development experience
- Proficiency in Git-based workflows
- Experience with Agile/Kanban tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, Trello)
- Strong technical documentation and design experience
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- iOS and/or Android application development
- Experience with design systems (NYC Design System is a plus)
- Privacy & security engineering knowledge
- Experience integrating with enterprise or legacy systems
Additional Notes:
- This is strictly an onsite role (no remote work allowed)
- Candidate must be available for a 20-minute Zoom/Skype discussion
