Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Migration Specialist to lead the transition of our on-premises data center infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will design, plan, and execute the migration strategy to ensure minimal downtime and maximum security.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct full discovery of on-premises infrastructure and application dependencies using automated tools.
- Define migration strategies (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor) for each data center workload.
- Design secure, multi-account AWS Landing Zones using AWS Organizations and Control Tower.
- Build hybrid network connectivity utilizing AWS Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and VPNs.
- Automate AWS infrastructure provisioning exclusively through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Orchestrate server replication and cutovers using AWS Application Migration Service (MGN).
- Execute zero-downtime database migrations utilizing AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
- Manage large-scale data transfers securely using AWS DataSync and Snowball devices.
- Integrate centralized identity management and RBAC using AWS IAM Identity Center and Active Directory.
- Coordinate final cutover activities, DNS switches, and rollback plans during maintenance windows.
- Implement post-migration cost optimization using AWS Compute Optimizer and Cost Explorer.
- Deliver architectural documentation and transition operational runbooks to the cloud operations team.
Technical Requirements
- Cloud Experience: 6+ years of hands-on experience building and migrating workloads on AWS.
- Migration Tools: Proficiency with AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), AWS DataSync, and AWS DMS.
- Core AWS Services: Deep knowledge of EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, and AWS Secrets Manager.
- On-Premises Infrastructure: Strong understanding of VMware vSphere, SAN storage, and enterprise networking.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
