Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
Partner with Treasury, Market Risk, Counterparty Management, Credit Risk, and Compliance teams to gather and analyze business requirements related to:
Credit limits and utilization
Counterparty ratings and methodologies
Hierarchies, portfolios, and exposure aggregation
Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and data mappings.
Validate requirements against the COTS platform capabilities and identify configuration vs. customization needs.
Support gap analysis between current-state and future-state processes.
Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with the COTS vendor to:
Clarify requirements
Review solution designs
Validate configurations and delivered functionality
Act as a bridge between vendor teams and internal IT (architecture, development, QA, data, and integration teams).
Facilitate workshops, backlog grooming sessions, sprint reviews, and UAT sessions with business users.
Integration, Data & Downstream Systems
Define requirements for data interfaces between:
Treasury systems (counterparty hierarchy, trades, portfolios)
Credit limits and ratings platform
Downstream pre-trade and post-trade compliance systems
Collaborate with data and integration teams on data models, mappings, controls, and reconciliation rules.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of credit-related data flows.
Agile Delivery & Testing
Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Write high-quality user stories with acceptance criteria.
Support system testing, UAT, defect triage, and business sign-off.
Ensure delivered solutions align with regulatory, audit, and risk governance expectations.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, preferably in:
Capital Markets
Treasury
Credit Risk
Market Risk
Counterparty Risk
Strong understanding of Capital Markets products and trade lifecycle, including:
OTC and exchange-traded instruments
Counterparty exposure concepts
Portfolio and position aggregation
Strong understanding of:
Credit limits, exposure management, and utilization
Counterparty ratings (internal and external)
Trade lifecycle and portfolio structures
Proven experience working with vendor-implemented COTS platforms.
Hands-on experience in Agile delivery environments.
Experience defining data interfaces and integrations across multiple systems including hands on experience with data analysis and data mapping.
Ability to read and interpret data models, source-to-target mappings, and API/interface specifications.
Strong SQL skills to support data validation and reconciliation.
Preferred Skills & Experience (good to have)
Experience supporting Capital Markets or Treasury Management Systems (TMS).
Knowledge of pre-trade and post-trade compliance processes within Capital Markets environments.
Familiarity with counterparty hierarchy management, legal entities, and netting structures.
Understanding of credit exposure calculations, limits utilization, and ratings usage across trading portfolios.
Experience working with market data providers, ratings agencies, and internal credit models.
