Preferred Qualifications

  • Multi-cloud architecture experience
  • Experience with chaos engineering and resilience testing
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) background
  • Experience in industries with strict availability requirements (finance, healthcare, critical infrastructure)

What Makes This Role Unique

  • NFR framework owner: You'll define the enterprise standards for performance, scalability, availability, and resilience
  • Application tiering authority: Create and govern the RPO/RTO framework that classifies all enterprise applications

  • Resilience architect: Design the HA/DR patterns that protect business-critical systems

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise NFRs & Standards (40%)

  • Map NFRs to each tier and document required architecture patterns
  • Establish SLA/SLO framework for enterprise applications
  • Define capacity planning and sizing standards

Cloud Platform Patterns & Templates (35%)

  • Create cloud-native application templates (microservices, serverless, container-based)
  • Define compute platform patterns (when to use VMs, containers, serverless, managed services)
  • Establish resilience and HA/DR patterns by tier (multi-region active-active, multi-AZ HA, backup/recovery)
  • Document data persistence patterns (database selection, caching, state management)
  • Create cloud platform reference architectures (3-tier, microservices, event-driven, serverless)
  • Define observability patterns (application monitoring, distributed tracing, log aggregation)
  • Establish cost optimization patterns (right-sizing, reserved capacity, spot instances)

Frameworks (15%)

  • Build application architecture templates for common patterns (web apps, APIs, batch processing, streaming)
  • Create disaster recovery testing framework
  • Define performance testing framework and standards
  • Establish cloud migration pattern library (lift-shift, re-platform, re-architect)

Roadmap & Governance (10%)

  • Develop cloud platform and modernization roadmap
  • Participate in application tier classification reviews
  • Review solution architectures for NFR compliance and tier alignment
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure team on platform capabilities
