Scope of Work
We are seeking an experienced US-based Wireless Network Specialist for a strategic infrastructure modernization program supporting enterprise network transformation initiatives across Downstate New York.
The program focuses on enhancing network reliability, security, and end-user experience through:
• Replacement of end-of-life network hardware
• Deployment of next-generation enterprise Wi-Fi solutions
• Provisioning of high-speed internet connectivity integrated with SD-WAN technologies
• Evaluation and implementation of alternative connectivity solutions including Satellite and 5G for disaster recovery and rapid deployment scenarios
• Support for facility expansion and infrastructure enhancement projects
The role will involve extensive wireless design and survey responsibilities, including both onsite and desktop wireless assessments using tools such as Ekahau and/or Hamina. Candidates should be comfortable with ad-hoc travel to client locations for Wi-Fi surveys and deployment support.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, deploy, and optimize enterprise-grade Wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions across office and industrial environments
• Conduct predictive and onsite wireless surveys, RF analysis, and coverage optimization
• Troubleshoot complex Wi-Fi issues including authentication failures, RF interference, roaming, and performance degradation
• Develop and maintain detailed Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for Wi-Fi, NAC, and related network services
• Prepare accurate Bill of Materials (BoM) for new deployments, refresh initiatives, and upgrade programs
• Support wireless lifecycle management including hardware refreshes, firmware/software upgrades, and capacity planning
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and platform teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable wireless solutions
• Contribute to wireless standards, best practices, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the network engineering team

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise WLAN technologies, specifically:
o Cisco Wireless
o Aruba Wireless
Mandatory Skill:
• Extensive experience with Aruba ClearPass, including:
o 802.1X Authentication
o RADIUS
o Device Profiling
o Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
Strong Understanding Of:
• RF fundamentals:
o Channel planning
o Power optimization
o Interference mitigation
• IEEE 802.11 standards including:
o Wi-Fi 5
o Wi-Fi 6 / 6E
o Wi-Fi 7
• WLAN authentication methods:
o EAP protocols
o RADIUS
o Role-based access policies
• Enterprise wireless controllers and cloud-managed Wi-Fi platforms
• Hands-on experience with wireless survey and planning tools such as:
o Ekahau
o Hamina
• Experience with Cradlepoint or similar 5G-enabled networking platforms
• Proven experience supporting large-scale enterprise Wi-Fi environments
• Ability to analyze network analytics, performance metrics, and incident trends
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with both technical and non-technical teams
• Willingness to travel onsite for pre-deployment and post-deployment wireless surveys
