Senior DevOps Engineer/Delivery Architect (Contract)

Irvine, CA

Looking for a talented and technical DevOps Architect/Sr. Engineer who is capable of leading and supporting DevOps / container transformation projects and providing consulting and implementation support for DevOps solutions from a people, process, and technology perspective.  Under the general direction of the Consulting Engagement Manager, the DevOps Architect/Sr. Engineer will help transform organizations to adopt container practices, embrace a DevOps mindset, retool their resources for DevOps, containerization, and implement technical solutions that drive towards rapid delivery of services/products to customers.

What You’ll Do: 

• Assist sales teams with pre-sales support, customer presentation, and technical recommendation.

• Develop container adoption strategies for on premise and multi cloud environments that take into account both technical and cultural transformation with an organization.

• Leverage combination of strong consulting skills, technical ability, development knowledge, and architecture strategy to assess the needs of an organization to leverage DevOps methodologies, design and align an organization around DevOps solutions and implement a project to enable customers to improve delivery of services/products.

• Work with organizations to deploy, develop, configure, and support all technologies required to support DevOps solutions such as infra/cloud automation, environment provisioning, Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipelines, monitoring and metrics, QA automation, and security.

• Lead a team of engineers (Trace3 and/or customer) to implement DevOps solutions (larger projects) and conduct tandem teaching and tooling of resources in conjunction with delivery.

• Create and/or contribute to deliverables, technical and non-technical, that are require to support the transformation.

Qualifications & Interests:

• Experience with container solutions like Docker

• Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker EE or ECS.

• Experience with one or more of the following: Puppet, Chef, Anisble, SaltStack

• Experience with Continuous Delivery process and tools: Jenkins, QuickBuild, Bamboo

• Software Development experience or knowledge: Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, or .Net

• Experience with one or more source code repositories: git, Bit Bucket, SVN, Perforce, etc, including migrations from one to another

• Experience implementing Testing using multiple test tools and services such as JUnit, JMeter, Selenium and Cucumber

• Experience with the ELK Stack – ElasticSearch, LogStash (or FluentD) and Kibana

• Experience working with developers and helping them understand and adopt DevOps practices and consume services like the CI/CD pipeline.

• Experience with application modernization and transformation in support of movement to the cloud and/or DevOps.

• Understanding of service-oriented architecture (REST APIs, micro-services, etc) and ability to develop code to make API calls

• Familiarity with IP networking concepts such as VPN, DNS, load balancers, firewalling

• Experience with on-premises infrastructure as well as public and hybrid cloud methodologies

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, a high degree of professionalism and the ability to design technology solutions for commercial and large enterprise companies. 

• Excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills required. 

• Ability to work with both Client and Internal teams using a collaborative demeanor.
