slicehost switch (success)...

Hey everyone,

This is just an update to the pre-mature HostingRails shout out. On
Friday I decided to switch to slicehost and re-design my company
website in rails. For some reason I have this knack for making
complicated tasks even more arduous. I decided it wouldn't be any fun
if I didn't have something exciting to put out there. In any case, it
wasn't complicated and it took me from Friday up until today to get my
slice setup and my new website designed and deployed. I opted to
follow the slicehost tutorials exclusively rather than using a
cap:deploy to set everything up. It was very reminiscent of my days
setting up linux firewalls, but the slicehost articles made it very
manageable and they allowed me to understand everything a little more
clearly.

I really appreciate everyone's feedback on my previous post. I thought
it would be nice if I gave y'all an update.

Thanks for the update Chris.  Glad it worked out for you.  I think there is knowledge value in setting up your server from the bottom up.
