While you can use any jeans pattern while sewing along with this course (including men's jeans and patterns from other companies), we've included all of our best-selling jeans patterns with enrolment. Choose between:

Wow! I made jeans !!I did feel like running out to show everyone I made jeans! This course is so worth it. I watched each video many times. Everything is very well explained. I learned many new tricks. I have been sewing for many years but did very few pairs of pants because I didn't think I could get the fitting right. That course changed all that, it made me confident I can do the adjustments and get right fit. I really liked the explanations on how to try on and examine the lines, what is ok and what can be fixed. I am really proud of my Ginger jeans and I am looking forward to making the Morgan.

Totally worth it!This course was incredibly helpful, not only for making the ginger jeans, but it has also helped me become more confident with fitting and pattern adjustments. I really appreciate Heather's attitude for going with the flow when you make small mistakes. After making a pair of jean shorts for a muslin, I can say that I am the only one that has noticed the topstitching mistakes that I made! Thank you for putting together the most comprehensive and honest sew along class!

Wonderful step by step tutorial. Highly recommend downloading jeans fitting guide as well. I'm very confident in my jeans game now! It took me a few test runs to determine which rise was best for me and to trouble shoot the adjustments I needed for a spot on fit, but I feel like each pair keep getting better. Never buying RTW jeans again!I've never purchased an online tutorial so I was sceptical I'd get the help I needed if I ran into questions. The team at Closet Core was quick to answer questions and I would have my question answered by the next day in detail (in an easy to understand manner for a novice sewer!). I appreciated the tips in cutting fabric and the visuals for doing the fly that were easy to rewind and rewatch as needed.Loved it! Would definitely recommend!! Worth the money!

This class focuses on construction and technique, and while we use the Ginger jeans to demonstrate on camera, you can follow along using absolutely any jeans pattern you prefer, including a mens pattern.

This class is fantastic. Not only did I sew a great pair of jeans - I'm wearing them as I type - I've gone on to sew two more pairs and have the fabric for another pair. I learned so much about fit and technique that I have now applied to other garments as well. If you want to sew your own jeans - and if you sew, you should - get this class. I am close to a pretty standard size, but I needed a flat seat adjustment and a thin thigh adjustment. Heather instructs you how to make these and other adjustments, to get a really great fitting pair of jeans.

My purchase of this course was worth the money. I was happy with my first pair of Ginger Jeans and I don't think I would have had the same result without the course. My issues with the course are a bit nitpicky. I very much liked the class but I felt a couple things could improve. My primary issue was with the shaky camera work when showing close ups of the actual sewing portions of the course. I found it distracting. Also the instructor, Heather Lou, appears to be in a bit of a rush in the videos. This wasn't a problem since I could rewatch or pause the video, but it seemed a little odd. Other than that, it was a really good class and I will be purchasing the other courses when I start those projects.

Pattern and final product met all my expectations. It has everything - perfectly oversized, pocket, many options and much more. The patern has perfect potential for color blocking, playing with many different fabrics u name it.

I made the top for my teenage daughter and she loves it! This is not my first time sewing swimwear, but I learned some new techniques from the helpful tips in the pattern that I will continue to use. Will definitely make this pattern again!

I have been looking for a dress pattern - this is it! I love the shape it creates, a comfortable but defined waist, a beautiful bodice with back detail and fun skirt! I finally HAD to wash my dress and am dying to get it back, I am already planning 3 more!!

I really enjoyed this pattern -- it gave enough of a challenge (I would describe myself as an 'experienced beginner'!), but completable. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and I really like the final garment :)

The best way to figure out your ideal rise is simply to measure the rise on your favorite jeans. And most websites provide that info, so if your favorite jeans are still available online, you can look it up that way.

Inseam: The inseam is the distance from the middle of the crotch seam (right between your legs) to the bottom of the pant leg. You take this measurement on the inside of the pant leg. Lay them out flat, folded in half, to get the most accurate measurement.

Denim is a strong cotton fabric made using a twill weave, which creates a subtle diagonal ribbing pattern. Historically, denim was 100% cotton, which makes them very rigid. These days, most denim is made with a certain percentage of Tencel, Spandex, elastane, etc. to give them a stretchier, more comfortable fit and feel.

My favorite denim composition is 98% cotton/2% spandex or elastane. In my opinion, that 2% is just enough to give them some stretch, but they still have the integrity of denim and they usually hold their shape quite well.

I would also love for you to join my JLS Fashion Insiders Facebook Group! This is a friendly place to discuss all matters of fashion and style with other women, share your outfits, get advice, and stay up to date on all the happenings in our community.

I had major stomach surgery last year and can no longer stand anything pressing, or seams rubbing against the scars area. So high rise are my friend. Thank you for this instructional post. No idea why I never thought to go look at my favorite jeans and check out the measurements. Duh!
