Hi,

I would like to implement the following - visitors arriving at my website using a URL such as:

Will be redirected to another domain as follows:

The ABC123 may be any code and need not be stored in a database as in a typical short URL system.  It just needs to be passed to the new URL.

Can I use the UrlRewritingNet tool to do this?  And do I need to, or is it something I can do with a script or something?

My server is Windows Server 2003, but I am happy to use another server if necessary.

Many thanks for your advice.

Regards,
Paul

Yes you can.

If you have a specific pattern or general pattern of post-address url (ie ABC123) then UrlRewriting/UrlRewriter are good tools to use.   If you have a specific page that will always need to be redirected to another page (internal or external to the website) then its best to handle those redirects at the web-server level.
