The Kampsville Archaeological Field and Laboratory Program sponsored
by Arizona State University’s School of Human Evolution and Social &
Social Change offers a variety of field and lab courses during the
summer. Three six week (June 14- July 18) courses are offered: Human
Osteology, Field Archaeology (Geophysical Testing + Field Methods),
and Archaeomatics (Geophysical Testing + GPS + GIS).
In addition they offer a series of exciting two-week modules that may
be enrolled independently. They cover a variety of subjects of
importance to today’s and tomorrow’s archaeologists. World-class
scholars teach these from ASU, CAST, the Illinois State Museum (ISM),
UA, and Washington University-Saint Louis (WU). The topics include
Geophysical Testing, Paleobotany, Paleofaunal Analysis, Chronometry,
Geoarchaeology, Historical Artifact Analysis, and Pollen Analysis.
