If you are interested in working in Israel this summer, I would
suggest that
you take a look at this program. (and if you are looking at any other

Archaeology, Heritage, and History: Field School and Study Program at
Dor.

http://www.outreach.psu.edu/summerabroad/study-Israel/

Several options are available:

(1) a 4 week 6 credit (4 weeks) field school (July) at Tel Dor; (2) a
9 credit (5.5 weeks) field school and study tour (July and early
August); (3) a 3 credit Study tour only (10 days - August)

1. The 4 week 6 credit course offers two opportunities:
a) a 3 credit field excavation course (2 weeks) and a 3 credit on-
site conservation/heritage course (2 weeks). To my knowledge,
offering both an excavation and on-site conservation/heritage program
is unique.
b) a 6 credit field excavation course (4 weeks)

2. There is a 5.5 week 9 credit option as well. After the excavation,
I will be offering a 3 credit study tour of Israel (CAMS/JST 012)
which will be a tour of archaeological sites in Israel. Thus in 5.5.
weeks, one can earn 9 credits which does make the costs associated
with travel more attractive.

3. There is also the possibility of participating only in the 3 credit
study tour in early August.
