Keare
ID# 20626 in kennel 404

Keare has been surrendered to our shelter twice. The first time was July 7th because of housing issues. She was adopted and then returned a few days later on July 24th. Her adopters said that she was not good with the other animals in the home, both cats and dogs. Due to this information, she was not placed back up for adoption. Here at the shelter, she has briefly interacted with her kennel neighbor (Rico the senior chihuahua) and was good with him. Her previous owners did not specify if their dogs were her size or larger. She is friendly with staff and has allowed multiple vet exams without issue!

Keare is:
1 year old
Spayed
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines
Around 20 pounds

Rico
ID# 21031 in kennel 403

Rico came to us as a stray about two weeks ago, but luckily, we have some insight into his behavior from the person that found him. They kept him for a little while and were able to determine he’s good with kids and is possibly housebroken. Rico is very scared here at the shelter. He hasn’t allowed our staff to safely handle him much, so we don’t know his heartworm status or have a better guess at his age. We know he’s a senior, though, and he appears to be neutered.

Rico is:
Senior
Neutered
Heartworm status unknown
Around 15 pounds

Charlie
ID# 12348 in kennel 203

Charlie was originally adopted from us around a year ago and was recently surrendered due to a bite incident. He finished his quarantine the other day but will need to go with a rescue due to his history. His owner said he was regularly snappy but only bit this one time. Charlie is reported to be good with other dogs and is house broken.

Charlie is:
3 years old
Neutered
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines
Around 15 pounds

Hazel
ID# 21272 in kennel 201

Hazel was surrendered on July 30th due to her behavior. Her owners reported a bite history (nothing recent) and said she tries to bite often. Our staff has had the same experience with Hazel, unfortunately! We were able to handle her to vaccinate and heartworm test her (she’s negative), but she definitely tried to bite the whole time. As you can tell from her photo, she is very scared here. Her owners said she is good with female dogs and is crate and house trained.

Hazel is:
7 years old
Intact
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
Around 18 pounds

Emmett
ID# 21261 in kennel 207

Emmett was surrendered by his owner because they could no longer care for him due to their health. Emmett came in with severe matting on his face, so our vet staff sedated him to comfortably groom him. While he was sedated, Emmett had a seizure. Our vet isn’t sure if it was due to the sedation, or if he was already having some before coming to the shelter. The owner said he did not have any current or past medical concerns.

Emmett is:
14 years old
Neutered
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
Around 7 pounds
